Don't Go To Sleep: The Grassroots Movement

You know what they say, if you can't bring Mohammad to the mountain...

Word on the street is Don't Go To Sleep is playing on YouTube! Just ask the awesome guys at Kindertrauma if you don't believe me! They are trying to get folks to watch it this weekend and then post their thoughts in the comments section. You can read about it all here. It will link you to part one of the movie, and, just for kicks, if you click on the link for Made for TV Mayhem, it leads to my review of the movie. It's all cylindrical and stuff!

This is a rare movie and should be seen by all horror hounds, TV Movie nuts and otherwise!

Now git!

Terrifying...the final scene is burned on my brain forever!

Thank you for alerting me to this movie, have never heard of before and unlike most of the Youtube viewers I wasn't lucky enough to be scared shitless by it as a youngster! What really struck me was the brilliance of the acting, in particular, the fight sequence between bereaved (again) parents Laura and Philip and also, the mental ward scene at the end...Nice camera angles too (especially the pizza cutter sequence) though I had to stop myself from counting how many tracking shots there were of the front of the house!

One movie I saw in the 90's (though I have no idea what year it was filmed) was about two witches (one or both may have been teenagers) and the final showdown involved a nail gun an' that's all I got!
Any ideas?! Have been wondering for a millennium and you could be my last hope.

Thanks again, great blog!

Hi guys, thanks for commenting.

Sam, I'm can't think of a movie from the 90s, but maybe try to look into a movie from the 70s or early 80s called Midnight Offerings. It has a teen witch showdown that is AWESOME (although I don't remember a nailgun... but maybe...). Even if it's the wrong one, I still recommend it. I've been wanting to review it forever, and this inspired me!

btw Sam, I almost forgot, if I didn't get the movie right, try sending it to Kindertrauma. People often find the titles of movies with just that amount of info you have.

Good luck!

Hey Amanda,
Have checked out Midnight Offerings on Youtube and am afraid it's not the one but I love Melissa Sue Anderson and this looks super cool!!!

Will let you know how I get on with Kindertrauma as am sure you'll love this movie. Am kinda remembering a canoe being involved also (one more clue!).

Thanks!

Amanda, Amanda, Amanda! You WERE right after all.
Midnight Offerings IS the movie I have been searching for all of these years!!! After perusing through the Youtube segments (annoyingly not the whole movie) I came across the only nail gun my memory cares to hold! Check it out at 2:25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfQVFMOzSOY
Thank you for putting me out of my misery. Hope to see a review of this beauty up soon!
